Bard College is a private institution located in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York, founded in 1890. It is mainly known for its strength in arts and humanities. Its great location gives students access to many cultural and recreational activities in the historic Hudson River Valley and in New York in general. The undergraduate population is about 1,900 students; allowing for each of their classes to have less than 30 students.
The Arabic Program at Bard College is housed within the Middle Eastern Studies Program and the Foreign Languages, Cultures and Literature Program. It offers three years of instruction from the beginner level up to advanced. Bard offers many options for study abroad including programs in Germany, Russia, and Hungary. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these study abroad opportunities for a semester, academic year, or a summer. Bard College is notably the only American institute to have a partnership with an academic institute in the West Bank, where students study at the Al-Quds Bard College for Arts and Sciences.
