California University of Pennsylvania is a public university located near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in the eastern United States. Known as “Cal U,” the university enrolls about 7,700 undergraduate and graduate students.
California University of Pennsylvania offers more than 100 undergraduate programs and a similar number of graduate-level degree and certificate programs, including two doctorates. About 20 undergraduate programs and more than 75 graduate programs are offered 100% online.
California University of Pennsylvania offers both a B.A. in Arabic Language and Culture and an M.A. in Social Science: Arabic Language and Linguistics in a fully online format.
Both programs emphasize reading, writing, and speaking in Modern Standard Arabic. Egyptian and Levantine dialect instruction also is offered. Coursework includes cultural topics ranging from geography and religions, to cuisine and multiculturalism.
The capstone courses are specifically designed to enhance Arabic language skills and develop a deeper appreciation of the Arab culture. Students in the master’s degree program are encouraged to complete internships where they can utilize their Arabic language skills in a professional setting.
