Layla Bahar Al-Aloom

Layla Bahar Al-Aloom received her BA in Applied Studies from California State University, Dominguez Hill, her MA in Education Administration and Supervision from the University of Phoenix, and her Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction in Teaching English as a Second Foreign Language from Concordia University. She is an Arabic language lecturer at California State University, Fullerton, an ESL lecturer at California State University, Long Beach, and the Arabic Language Department Head at Minaret Academy. She is also a consultant, teachers’ trainer, curriculum designer for Arabic language programs. Since 2007, she has been a (OCWLP) STARTALK program coordinator, and in 2012, she became one of the instructors in the program. As an educator, Layla’s ultimate goal is constantly seeking creative ways to promote high quality and modern styles of teaching the Arabic language. She has presented a variety of educational topics related to the Arabic language at different national conferences in United States, and she has a great passion for helping teachers learn new methods and strategies in teaching Arabic language and culture.
